おおしこうちのみつね
心あてに 折らばや折らむ 初霜の
置きまどはせる 白菊の花
歌意
あてずっぽうに折るならば折ってみようか。初霜が降りて、どれが霜か白菊の花か見分けがつかなくなってしまっているから。
English Translation
If it were my wish
White chrysanthemum to cull;--
Puzzled by the frost
Of the early autumn time,
I by chance might pluck the flower.
