浅茅生の 小野の篠原 しのぶれど
あまりてなどか 人の恋しき

浅茅が生えている小野の篠原ではないが、いくら忍んでも忍びきれず、どうしてこんなにあの人が恋しいのだろうか。

Bamboo-growing plain,
With a small-field bearing reeds!
Though I bear my lot,
