ふじわらのきよすけあそん
ながらへば またこのごろや しのばれむ
憂しと見し世ぞ 今は恋しき

生きながらえていたなら、つらいと思っている今のことも懐かしく思い出されるのだろうか。あれほどつらいと思った昔のことが、今では恋しく思い出されるように。

If I long should live,
Then, perchance, the present days
May be dear to me;--
Just as past time fraught with grief
Now comes fondly back in thought.
