夜もすがら もの思ふころは 明けやらで
閨のひまさへ つれなかりけり
歌意
一晩中あの人を思って悩んでいるころは、夜がなかなか明けず、寝室の隙間さえもがつれなく感じられることだ（いっこうに白んでこない）。
English Translation
Through the long, long night
I lie awake and think of you.
I wonder if you know
